Ellen Young

As a female on deck in the maritime industry since 2019, Ellen has firsthand experience of the challenges women face in this traditionally male-dominated field. One of the most pressing issues she encountered was the lack of suitable, functional uniforms designed for women in the deck and engineering departments. Seeing her fellow female deckies struggle with ill-fitting and unflattering gear, she realized something needed to be done.

In 2024, Ellen took matters into her own hands and founded Quay Figures, a brand dedicated to creating uniforms that prioritize both performance and fit for women. Her mission is simple: to provide high-quality, practical clothing that empowers women to do their best work without compromise.

Through Quay Figures, Ellen is trying to shape the future of maritime uniforms but also championing greater inclusivity and comfort for women in every industry.
